LPX Tactical

Rods that engage

LPX Tactical combines nothing less than cutting edge technology and a new definition of state-of-the-art rod actions for trout fishing. Tactical has a distinct and very precise action that gradually unleashes when you load the rods more and more. The action is what we like to describe as fast ¾ deep with superb stability that suits all levels of fly casters. When casting at shorter distance the tip and mid-section gives you plenty of that important sensitivity you need. At mid and longer distances, the lower parts of the rod engages and give you all the connection, power, and stability you dreamed of.

These rods are nothing short of exceptional: Super smooth, yet rigid and master all the different types of casts you like to do, while protecting the finest tippets, playing your trophy trout. Ultralight in hand and in real weight - 9' #5 weighs just 71 grams!

Strong, light & stable

The advanced carbon layup in these rods features C.A.P M4.0™ Technology (Complex Axial Pattern) paired with a unidirectional carbon fiber structure for maximum strength and stability in all directions, as well as low weight.

To lower the weight further, LPX Tactical is equipped with lightweight titanium stripping guides. For a firm and comfortable grip, we use Super grade cork, which also provides sublime aesthetics to the rod. The custom-designed reel seatss have premium wood inserts with an engraved “Tactical logo”. Metal parts are hard anodized in matte finish to avoid throwing flashes from sunlight. The same goes for the natural grey blanks, with dark green wrappings and light golden metallic trims.

The 9"rods

These are superlight fly rods, made for those who favour this classical length, with the advantage of true lightweight feeling for the recommended line weight. Incredibly versatile and less affected by wind, they have a faster action than the 9'9" rods.

The rods in #2-#3 in the 9" range are true dry fly and nymphing rods for the most delicate fishing with the finest tippets.

The #4 and #5 are the go-to rods for allround dry fly and nymphing in all types of waters. The properties in these are equally good fishing on short and long distance with all types of casts.

The #6 rod is for those who seek more wind exposed areas and want a rod to manage streamers well too.

The #7 is there to hammer out those chunky articulated streamers with heavy sinking lines.

The 9'9"rods

These are state of the art combo rods for dry fly, nymph, euro nymphing and lighter streamer fishing. Thanks to the advanced blank technology, the 9'9" rods are extremely user friendly. They have a very low swing weight with a capability of shaping tight, accurate loops.

The added length offers a longer reach on the water and a better contact and control during the drift. Compared with the 9' rods, these enable you to control the height of your cast better, clearing bushes and high banks behind you. They also offer more time to perform aerial mends and curve casts during the presentation phase. When fishing from a belly boat or when wading deep, the 9'9" rods give you additional height during casting.

The #2 and #3 models are crisp and precise tools for delicate work with dry flies and light nymphs, with tip sections balanced to cushion the finest of tippets.

The #4 and #5 rods are allround and equally versatile for rivers, lakes or tarns. While being a perfect match with dries and nymphs, they also perform excellent with lake rigs or smaller streamers.

Eco features

The LPX Series is a result of years spent on research and sourcing to achieve a greener flyrod, from both the components to the production. We have significally reduced the amount of dangerous chemicals. For example by using low VOC epoxies for assembly and rod coating. The rods are made using our GL ECO-Tech™ production technique where we avoid grinding the blanks, which normally produces harmful dust at the production facility. It also gives you the structured surface finish on the rod, with added strength as a result.

The stripping guides are made out of titanium, and for the single leg guides, we use a gun smoke powder coat finish on a stainless frame instead of chrome plating, to get rid of lead.

The rod tubes have a lower diameter and are made with PP (Polypropylene) and recycled polyester tube fabric. The same fabric is used as well for the rod bag.

Handles and reelseats

Our LPX Tactical rods are designed for a broad range of applications, and therefore the series offers different handle & reel seat configurations. The 9' #7 are fitted with a full wells cork handle and a reinforced cork butt. All models in the 9'9" length have a half wells grip with a micro cork butt, while the 9' model have a classic reel seat with no butt.
